Going places? Here Are the Directions of Life

Are you going places in your life? Do you want to go places in life? I’m not talking about vacations, I’m talking about meaningful places. I do! The good news is that God wants to take you places that you could only dream of going otherwise. So how does this work?

going places, roadmap, life

God has given every one of us incredible potential to really go places in life. The difference between those who really end up going places and those who end up on a dead end street or broken down is the choices you make daily. It is how you play your hand in life.

A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. John 10:10 (msg)

The secret is to get the right advice and stick to the gameplan.

It is like driving a car. When you take good care of your car, keep it maintained, change the oil, make sure the fluids are filled, and certainly keep the gas tank filled… you can and will go to the places you want to go. When you do not keep on top of things, let the maintenance suffer, let things become dirty and clogged, and fail to give it the gas and clean oil it needs to operate, you end up on the side of the road, calling somebody to rescue you.

It is much easier getting a hold of the owner’s manual, read it, and do what it says. Cars, trucks, computers and most valuable investments have owner’s manuals. God wrote the owner’s manual on life: It’s called the Bible or the Word of God. Too many people want to write their own owner’s manual without even understanding very much about life and how it all works. They want to do things their own way, and oftentimes that translates to dead end streets and breakdowns. If you want to live life to it’s fullest, to have more and better life than you ever dreamed of, go places in life, let the Creator of Life (and your life) be the boss, let Jesus be your Lord, let His Spirit lead you and follow the owner’s manual.

Many of us are high maintenance machines.

At times you need change the oil, check the fluids, kick the tires, if you are going places, right? Likewise in life, you need to discipline yourself with the way you drive so that you do not make it much harder, more painful, and more expensive on yourself and others along the way. Sometimes you let what is called sin in there. It clogs things up, hindering life from working the way it should. Jesus knows what needs to be changed and when, and where to find the good stuff to replace the junk with. Our job is to stay engaged with Him and the process God has plotted out for life. That is played out in a daily personal relationship with Him. He life’s roadmap so that you can take the steps as He guides you, everyday.

Jesus gives us directions and wants a personal relationship with each one of us. He does this to show us, personally, how it all works. If we will ask Him to and take the time to be with Him daily He promised to guide our path to the glorious future that only He is able to navigate you to.
